16th-century townhouse in the very heart of the city
Hotel Stary is located in a historic 16th-century townhouse, right next to the Main Market Square. The interiors combine Gothic vaults and brick walls with modern design. The underground spaces once served as merchants’ warehouses; today they form a wellness zone with pools and a salt grotto. In 2006, the building underwent a careful renovation, restoring its historic character while equipping it with contemporary amenities.
The Sky Bar terrace is a space with a breathtaking view of the Main Market Square and the towers of St. Mary’s Basilica. Popular for civil ceremonies, cocktails, and sunset dinners. In the evening, the terrace comes alive thanks to atmospheric lighting, and the seasonal bar serves drinks with a panorama of the Old Town.
The hotel offers 53 spacious and carefully designed rooms, distinguished by individual arrangements and a refined style. High-quality materials were used in their décor, and bespoke furniture designs, decorations, and mood lighting give the interiors a sophisticated character. Selected rooms feature balconies with exceptional views of the Main Market Square, the Cloth Hall, and the towers of St. Mary’s Basilica.
In the townhouse’s underground level, there is a wellness center with two mosaic pools, a dry sauna, a steam bath, a salt-iodine grotto, a gym, and massage rooms - all surrounded by historic vaults.
The cuisine of Hotel Stary Kraków is based on an original approach to Polish tradition, combining seasonal and local products with a modern interpretation of flavors. The culinary concept is led by a team under Executive Chef Michał Droździk, who harmoniously blends classic recipes with current trends.
The hotel offers several gastronomic concepts, including the 3 Rybki Restaurant with a seasonal menu inspired by Polish cuisine, Sky Bar & Rybki, and Nove Grill – a terrace restaurant with a view of Kraków’s rooftops and the Main Market Square. Tapas complement the offer.
